This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle safely in workplace and off-road environments.

Entry Requirements / Prerequisites

Students undertaking RIIVEH305F - Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle must be able to meet the practical, licensing, identification and learning requirements of the course.

  • Hold a current driver licence suitable for the four wheel drive vehicle being operated.
  • Provide an official form of photo identification, such as a driver licence, passport or student ID.
  • Be able to safely complete practical driving, vehicle inspection and basic vehicle maintenance activities in off-road or workplace conditions.
  • Have the language, literacy and numeracy skills needed to follow safety instructions, read vehicle and track information, complete simple workplace records, communicate clearly during practical activities and understand basic measurements or vehicle information.

  • Complete practical driving activities and respond to changing terrain or workplace hazards.
  • Carry out basic checks and maintenance requirements relevant to four wheel drive operation.
  • Complete knowledge questions and any required workplace/training documentation.
